7. Professional Certificate in Modern Leadership and Management Courses
7.1 How these programme terms apply
These additional terms apply specifically to the Professional Certificate in Modern Leadership and Management Courses and should be read alongside the general APDE Business Academy Terms and Conditions.
If there is any conflict between this section and the general Terms and Conditions, this section will apply to this programme. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
7.2 Early-access
Early-access means that learners can join the courses during development and publication period, but complete courses are not available at the point of launch.
When you enrol, you will receive:
-
immediate access to every lesson published at that time
-
access to all remaining lessons as they are released
-
access to the course's standard learning activities and knowledge checks
-
future updates and improvements to the course
-
access without a recurring subscription fee
-
a digital professional certificate issued by APDE after meeting the completion requirements
The course fee is a single payment covering the complete course. You will not be charged again for scheduled lessons, continued access or standard programme updates.
7.3 Lesson publication schedule
Lessons are released every Tuesday at 5 p.m. UK time, according to the schedule available on a course listing page.
APDE will use reasonable care and effort to follow the published schedule. However, individual release dates and times may occasionally change because of quality-review requirements, illness, technical problems, platform interruptions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If a lesson is delayed, we will aim to:
-
notify affected learners as soon as reasonably possible
-
provide a revised publication date
-
restore the planned schedule where practicable, including by releasing content earlier or publishing more than one lesson where appropriate
A short delay to an individual lesson does not cancel your enrolment or your access to lessons already available.
This flexibility does not remove APDE’s commitment to provide the complete 100-lesson programme. If we are unable to deliver a substantial part of the programme within a reasonable period, we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include alternative access, replacement content or a proportionate refund where required by law.
7.4 Changes to the curriculum
Leadership, management, technology and artificial intelligence continue to develop. We may therefore update lesson titles, examples, activities, resources, publication order or delivery format to maintain the programme’s accuracy, relevance and learning value.
We may also correct errors, replace outdated material and improve published lessons.
Any changes will preserve the overall scope, purpose and value of the programme. We will not use this provision to reduce the promised 100 lessons materially or remove core programme outcomes without providing an appropriate alternative.
7.5 Joining after the course has started
Enrolment may remain open after publication has begun.
Regardless of when you join, you will receive immediate access to every lesson published by your enrolment date. You will then receive all remaining lessons as they are released.
You are not required to complete each lesson during its publication week. Published lessons may be completed at your own pace, subject to continued compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
7.6 Lifetime access
Lifetime access means that your enrolment has no fixed expiry date and does not require renewal or further subscription payments. We will not remove your access simply because the publication period has ended, the programme price has changed or a newer learner has enrolled.
As no online platform or digital service can be guaranteed to operate indefinitely, lifetime access applies for the operational lifetime of the programme while APDE continues to provide it and remains reasonably able to do so.
If APDE intends to discontinue the programme or move it to another platform, we will aim to provide reasonable advance notice and, where practicable, offer continued access through an alternative platform or an opportunity to retain permitted learning materials.
Temporary maintenance, platform migration or technical interruptions do not constitute the end of lifetime access.
7.7 Updates and improvements
Course updates and improvements are included without additional charge for enrolled learners. We may replace or archive outdated versions of lessons when updated material becomes available.
Included updates relate to this programme. They do not automatically include separate courses, additional certificates, entirely new programmes, personal tutoring, live events or services that were not part of the programme when purchased.
7.8 Early-access pricing
Early access course is offered at an introductory early-access price while lessons are being progressively published.
APDE may increase the price for new enrolments as more lessons become available or may end the early-access offer before the complete course has been published.
Any price change will apply only to future purchases. Once you have enrolled successfully:
-
the price you paid is secured
-
no additional payment will be required for the remaining lessons
-
you will not be charged because the programme price later increases
-
you will continue to receive standard updates and access under these terms
The total price payable will be displayed before you complete your purchase. Promotional prices and later discounts cannot be applied retrospectively.
7.9 Completion and certification
The Professional Certificate in Modern Leadership and Management can be issued only after:
-
all 15 lessons have been published
-
you have completed the required course content
-
you have completed any mandatory activities or knowledge checks
-
any other completion requirements clearly displayed within the course have been met
Completion requirements will be explained within the learning platform and will not be changed retrospectively to a learner’s material disadvantage.
One standard digital certificate is included in the course fee. Charges may apply for printed copies, international postage or replacement certificates where these are requested.
Certificates are issued in the learner’s registered name. Learners are responsible for ensuring that their personal information is accurate.
Any CPD hours or points stated for the programme represent the learning time assigned or estimated by APDE. Employers, professional bodies and other organisations remain responsible for deciding whether and how they recognise the programme.
Completion does not guarantee employment, promotion, increased earnings, professional membership or acceptance by a particular employer or organisation.
7.10 Educational purpose
The course is provided for professional development and general educational purposes.
Its scenarios, suggested responses and learning materials are designed to develop judgement and encourage reflection. They are not a substitute for legal, employment, financial, medical, regulatory or other specialist advice.
Learners remain responsible for considering their organisation’s policies, applicable laws and the circumstances of each workplace situation before acting on programme content.
7.11 Platform access and technical requirements
You are responsible for having a suitable device, supported browser and reliable internet connection.
We aim to make published lessons available continuously, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Access may occasionally be affected by planned maintenance, security work, technical faults or third-party platform interruptions.
We will take reasonable steps to restore access promptly. A temporary interruption does not reduce your entitlement to the complete programme.
Release emails and other notifications are provided as a convenience. Learners should also check their account and the programme page for the latest lesson availability and publication information.
7.12 Learner accounts and programme materials
Programme access is personal to the registered learner and may not be transferred or shared.
The intellectual property and learner-responsibility provisions in the general Terms and Conditions apply to all lessons, scenarios, suggested responses, downloads and other programme materials.
When completing activities, learners should not submit confidential business information or personal, sensitive or identifiable information about employees, colleagues, clients or other individuals. Workplace examples should be anonymised where necessary.
7.13 Cancellation and refunds
Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain protected.
In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content purchases are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided that the course materials have not been accessed.
Once a course or downloadable material has been accessed or downloaded, the right to cancel is forfeited.
To request a refund, please contact info@apde.org.uk with your order details.
7.14 Communications and programme changes
Important programme notices may be sent to the email address registered to your account or displayed within the learning platform. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current.
We may update these programme-specific terms to reflect legal, regulatory, technical or operational changes. Updates will not retrospectively remove the access, content or other material benefits included with an existing learner’s purchase.
Where a change materially affects enrolled learners, we will provide reasonable notice.
8. Learner Responsibilities
By enrolling in a course or creating an account, learners agree to:
-
Use APDE Business Academy materials and platform for personal learning purposes only.
-
Not share, copy, record, or redistribute any part of the course content.
-
Keep login details secure and not share account access with others.
-

9. Intellectual Property
All course content, including text, graphics, slides, videos, audio narration, templates, and other materials, are the intellectual property of APDE.
Learners are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use materials for personal study purposes only.
Reproduction, resale, distribution, or use of APDE Business Academy content for commercial purposes without written permission is strictly prohibited.
